Global Accounting Alliance

The Global Accounting Alliance was formed in 2006 by nine accounting institutes representing 700,000 professional accountants working in the world's capital markets.

The overriding objective of the GAA is to operate in the interest of a quality accounting profession and act in the public interest.

The nine institutes will share ideas and information that will help them better support their members in an increasingly mobile and sophisticated profession.

The founding members of the GAA are:

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants
Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants
Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales
Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland
